We can show you a variety of seasonal landscapes such as breathtaking beauty of cherry blossoms in spring, magnificent fireworks in summer and impressive contrast of red and yellow leaves in autumn, depending on the season you visit.

Shimizu port is famous for importing tuna. As Shimizu is surrounded by the sea, you can eat not only tuna but also many kinds of fresh seafood. We can give you a lot of information about good seafood restaurants in the city.

Learning about traditional Kimono culture
Kimono is one of the most famous Japanese culture. Nowadays, we don't usually wear Kimono, but we wear Kimono for special occasions, such as a wedding ceremony or the Coming-of-Age ceremony. So, in Japan, it is quite common that we have some kinds of Kimono at home. We can show them to you, and if you'd like, you can try them on and take some pictures of you in Kimono.
If you would like to try an authentic kimono dressing experience, we can introduce rental kimono shops and hair salons. You can choose your own favorite kimono to try on and have your makeup and hair done at the shops.
Experience traditional Japanese tea ceremony

One of the most famous Japanese traditional cultures is Sado (tea ceremony). There are some authentic tearooms where a tea master serves matcha tea in Shimizu/Shizuoka. You can enjoy not only amazing taste of Matcha and Japanese confectionery but also the atmosphere of the traditional tearoom.

If you want to join Sawakai, we can arrange it just for you. You can experience our usual tea culture and enjoy chatting with local people.
Enjoy fresh fruits

We can have many kinds of delicious fruits produced by the farmers in suburban areas of Shimizu/Shizuoka throughout the year. We enjoy fresh fruit in each season, such as strawberries and various kinds of mandarin oranges in winter and in spring, peaches and watermelons in summer, pears and grapes in autumn. In Shizuoka and Shimizu, you'll find many places where you can enjoy shopping for your favorite character goods. You can also enjoy games like lottery-style games or crane machines and picking up your favorite character goods.
From world-famous anime and manga characters to cute local mascots created by the city or companies, you can find them everywhere-on the streets, in shops, and even at little corners of the city. Finding these characters is one of the joys of strolling around the city.

People in Shimizu and Shizuoka love sports! Soccer, baseball, basketball, and table tennis are all popular here, and there are some professional teams based in Shizuoka. Soccer is quite popular, especially--there are a plenty of local teams for kids, adults, and even seniors, and everyone enjoys playing the game. Shimizu is also the home to the professional soccer team, S-Pulse. You can often see locals cheering them on at the stadium or in the local pubs.
